The Challenge

This was a full-site build rather than an iteration: every template, every section, and every interactive feature needed to be designed and coded from scratch, with attention to local details like Naira currency display that Shopify doesn't handle natively out of the box.

What Was Built

Design system: a near-black, gold, and ivory palette paired with Cormorant Garamond and Jost typography, applied through a reusable eg- prefixed component library.

Homepage: hero section, trust bar, category grid, best sellers, "why choose us," craftsmanship story, Instagram gallery, newsletter signup, and a review summary section.
Product page: image gallery with buy box, variant picker, a gift box bundling option, video support, trust icons with conditional require tag/exclude tag logic, metafield-driven description tabs and specs, FAQs, a "Complete the Look" cross-sell section, and customer reviews.
Store-wide features: collection pages, a full cart page and cart drawer system, a newsletter popup, a mobile-optimized Flickity image gallery, and a floating WhatsApp contact button for direct customer chat.
Currency handling: solved Shopify's lack of native Naira support by combining money_without_currency with a hardcoded ₦ prefix across the site.
Quality control: built a Python schema validation script run after every schema edit to catch errors before they reached the live theme.

The Result

A complete, mobile-first Shopify storefront tailored to a Nigerian audience — from first browse to WhatsApp checkout conversation — with a consistent design system and a bundling/gifting experience built to drive average order value.
